God’s Peace and Trust In These Last Days

By Ricky Drake In this day and time adverse kinds of activities are going to increase. Read Isa. 25:6-26:12 Isa. 26:12 tells us that we walk in what he’s already done. Isa. 26:3 ‘You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you.’ Steadfast’ – in Heb. means ‘to lean upon, to rest, support, lay hold of, establish’ Mind –‘to form or create or devise’ in Heb. Literally means the ‘framing of the thought of the mind’. So when the proper framing of the thought of the mind has been established it can be taken hold of in times of confusion, trouble and stress. It sets the course of our lives and dictates our actions. So who’s the framer of your mind? In other words our mind can become a stronghold for good or bad. So the Heb. Is not dealing with thoughts, but the one thought that establishes us. Ps. 40:4 Blessed is the man who makes the LORD his trust, who does not look to the proud, to those who turn aside to false gods” Does not say trust in the Lord but who makes Him our trust. Peace is built on trust. Difference between faith and trust: Faith works by love, doesn’t work by itself. If no love, it’s just presumption. It’s given to us to exercise it on behalf of another. Faith always has expectancy to it. Trust is different; you’re not expecting anything; you are resting in it, Trust is used interchangeably with ‘confidence.” It frees me to do the work at hand without accompanying cares and concerns. When you see your weaknesses for what they are, you able to put them in perspective. Everything Jesus does is to bring a freedom in our lives so we can be who He designs us to be. Trust is the bridge that peace travels on. If you don’t have a relationship with the Holy Spirit, how do you know what He’s sayings? You’ve got to know His voice in this day and time. If you can’t hear him because he hasn’t trained his ears, he’s in trouble. A fruit of the Holy Spirit is peace. If your mind is continually wrapped up in other thoughts, you have a running conversation with the double. It’s got you so wrapped up in your thoughts, you can’t hear what the Holy Spirit is saying. ‘Blessed are the peacemakers’ doesn’t mean so much to make peace between two people, but to make peace in someone else. Peace is not an entity to pursue, but a person named Jesus. Comfort is based in truth. So if you are established in truth, then you have peace and are comforted. We get so involved in our problems, we let them take us out of the way of our redemption. We must get the place of where God’s unseen reality is seen reality. How seen is the unseen to you?? 2 Cor. 11:3 “But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent's cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ.” It’s simplicity; why do we try to complicate it? We ask for God’s help, but want to control how it’s done, so there’s no peace. Moab - ISA 25:10 ‘The hand of the LORD will rest on this mountain; but Moab will be trampled under him as straw is trampled down in the manure.’ Moab was the son of an incestuous relationship with Lot. Moab means literally means ‘of your own will.’ Jer.48:9-10 ‘Put salt on Moab, or she will be laid waste; her towns will become desolate, with no one to live in them’ JER 48:9-11 "A curse on him who is lax in doing the LORD's work negligently! A curse on him who keeps his sword from bloodshed!’ Heb. says Cursed is the person who has no value for what God has value for. Moab doesn’t want to do what God’s already given; he tries to do it by his own will and remains unchanged. PS 40:4 ‘Blessed is the man who makes the LORD his trust, who does not look to the proud, to those who turn aside to false gods’ PS 119:165 ‘Great peace have they who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble.’ It doesn’t matter what your experience is; bring your experience to what is true. Grace is not something you feel; it’s an activity. Members of our family can be what they are intended to be if we line them up with what’s already established in the heavenlies. You are the peace bearer, the facilitator of peace coming into your family
